Milan sacks Vincenzo Montella, appoints Gennaro Gattuso as interim coach

Serie A giants, AC Milan have sacked head coach, Vincenzo Montella and replaced him with former midfielder and captain, Gennaro Gattuso.
The Italian club made the announcement on Monday through their official club website as Gattuso was appointed interim coach.

The sacking of Montella came as a result of Milan’s 0-0 home draw to Torino at the San Siro stadium on Sunday.
Montella was appointed Milan’s manager in the summer of 2016 and led the team to sixth in his first season in charge, also winning the Supercoppa Italiana.
He is the fifth coach sacked by the Italian club since Clarence Seedorf took over in January 2014.
Milan is currently sitting in seventh position, 18 points behind league leaders, Napoli.
Until his appointment, Gattuso was in charge of the club’s youth team and has now taken over the senior side.
